About Us

Meet the owners, Carrie and Mike White

In December 2015, Mike and I purchased Plas Hall Hotel, having fallen in love with the old Manor on our first visit earlier in the year, with a view to refurbishing the entire building and grounds.

Now in our mid fifties, we moved to North Wales from Norfolk. We have previously run a manufacturing business specialising in wood veneer for 20 years, followed by 10 years in which Mike ran his own plant nursery whilst I was an administrative manager in the University of East Anglia (UEA) in Norwich. We have four grown up children.

We have several relevant passions as we embark on these refurbishments. Mike loves to tinker with old buildings, enhancing the beauty of the original structure whilst ensuring the restored building works well in the current age. I am a keen gardener and am looking forward to improving the appearance of the extensive grounds over the next few years. I also love to ‘manage’, so will enjoy running the administration necessary for a hospitality venture of this magnitude. Mike is happiest when shooting the breeze with friends and loves to down tools whilst chatting with visitors about his work and future plans.

We both look forward to welcoming you to Plas Penaeldroch Manor, to help you enjoy the relaxing atmosphere, locally sourced food cooked in house and served in our fully licensed restaurant and the spectacular views of the glorious Snowdonia countryside. With ample parking and free wifi on site, why not give us a try?
