For 2018 we decided not to host any major events whilst we focus on installing the new 3 storey stair case.  We hope to restart our programme of events again for Summer 2019 when we look forward to welcoming you to one, or better yet many, of our events.

Having said that, on Friday 23rd November 2018 we will be hosting an Auction of Promises which has been organised by the local Eisteddfod committee to raise funds for the National Eisteddfod when it comes to Llanrwst next year.

Looking back, from Autumn 2016 to Spring 2017, we offered monthly music or quiz evenings in our newly refurbished café. We have hosted an evening of European folk music with Mouton (November 2016); one of 1970’s to 2000’s covers with Jabberwocky (January and April 2017 ); a night with Pam and Ivor (March 2017) and an acoustic evening with the Elastic Band (May 2017), in addition to several quiz nights. Each of these evenings included a delicious supper cooked on site by Jane.
We were also pleased to raise just over £380 for Comic Relief with our ditloids quiz and bake sale in March 2017.

The Penaeldroch Red Nose team – two busy people, and one with time to smile for the camera!

On Sunday 18th June 2-4 p.m. we held a Great Get Together /  Big Lunch.  You may remember that Jo Cox, MP, was murdered just before the ‘Brexit’ Referendum. Her widower, Brendan, suggested that communities might mark the anniversary of her death “by getting together with your neighbours to share food and celebrate all that we have in common.” and that “this can be a chance to bring our communities closer together. Jo’s killing was designed to divide us and promote hatred. Our friends and family can think of no better response than an anniversary that brings us closer together and celebrates all that we have in common.” and that together we can “make the anniversary of Jo’s murder a nationwide celebration of strength, kindness and unity of our communities.”  All were welcomed, and about 40 people turned out to honour that which we have in common.
