Is the end nigh?

Life has been a little less hectic since I last wrote, thank goodness.

Based on feedback, and also on comment regarding the appearance of the room, we have begun to paint the restaurant in the ‘Lemon Ice’ paint.  On the less decorative elements, Mike has installed a door liner between the kitchen and the store room, fitted a great deal of skirting board, and I have applied weedkiller to about a quarter of the drive.

We have had a lovely weekend with Uncle Tim and also Di, Brian, Emma and Kimmy the labrador puppy, all of whom arrived on Saturday.

Today we had the bonus of Tim to help us, and have made huge strides in the painting, whilst Mike has beavered away finishing a lot of preparatory work before we (ideally) finish the plastering tomorrow, and (hopefully) the tile laying on Wednesday.  When Adrian arrived to help, the four of us really were making changes in short order.

On the business side, we have received our Barclaycard transaction machine, so are ready to trade via fantastic plastic.  The balance of the furniture has arrived; we have an installation date for the phone lines and additional broadband; and I have made a few purchases at the Cash and Carry, ready for opening.

Anxious, us, with only 12 working days before opening and about 25 days work to get through? Well, only a little bit!
