We took a break… and were so happy to return!

Over the last three weeks, I spent several days in South Wales doing churchy things. After this, my sister Di visited to help with some painting, before her husband arrived and they had a short break together whilst Mike repainted the front door in our ‘white and grey’ livery…

…and shortly after Di and Brian left, some school friends of mine came visiting. You can see us all below at the Inigo Jones bridge in Llanrwst…

…and do you agree that we still look youthful, despite all meeting for the first time in 1971, noting two of us actually met in 1965, which does feel like that was a little while ago. Once Venetia and Delyth had returned to the depths of Hertfordshire, Mike and I took a few days off to visit family, and on our return we got back to the building works…

…every two course of bricks we insert insulation into the cavity. Also every two courses, we have to tie in the internal walls to maximise the strength of the structure…

…and we have ties across the cavity to tie everything together…

…and today, we have completed the eight course of twelve in some areas, so we should be inserting the lintels over the doors soon!

Progress does sometimes feel a little slow, but we have great news. About a week ago, we received the new plans from the architect, so once these have been sent to Building Control, we might continue building the barn, or we might move back to building the suites. Decisions, decision, decisions….
